AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Q: What is your writing process?

A: Since we are co-authors, we have a number of face to face writing meetings, as well as email communication going back and forth. Usually, we first try to outline the general idea and the main characters using character interviews and even finding images of how we think the characters look. We outline and parcel out a few chapters at a time and exchange the chapters for editing once they are written. Then, we repeat the process. Sometimes we write chapters together, sitting side by side, as we did with the last chapter of A Touch of Darkness.

Q: What books do you write?

A: We write paranormal romance and urban fantasy together and individually. Yelena also writes historical fiction. Tina also writes contemporary romance. We have several titles available both indivivdiually and together. Below is the reading order.

Q: How is writing with a partner different than writing solo?

A: When you write with a partner, you have to leave your ego at the door, learn to compromise, and not take anything personally. It's important to be able to talk everything out and make sure that both partners are comfortable with ideas and the direction of the novel. The great thing about writing with a partner is that two brains are working on the manuscript, which means more great ideas and less getting stuck.
