When she hooks up with her two best friends, Danita and Latrell, to form a rap group, they set their sights on making it to the top of the hip hop world. Scar, a local drug dealer and rapper with connections in the music industry, takes the group under his wing and develops a personal relationship with Takeisha. However, when the relationship between Scar and Takeisha goes sour, the girls are left on their own to pursue their musical career. When Takeisha's father, Rashid Jenkins, decides to finance the group's musical career, their dreams of making it to the big time are given a new life. Their demo CD manages to land in the hands of music mogul and gangster, Samson Miles, and he decides to sign the group to a record contract with his record label, Cash Rules Records. After releasing a smash debut album, the girls are able to transform themselves from being a trio of wanna be rappers to a superstar rap group overnight. Their rise to the top of the music business allows them an opportunity to reap the benefits of all of the money, fame, and notoriety that accompany success but it's at a costly price.
