Man from Lisbon — Thomas Gifford

An historical novel about Alves Reis. He pushed so many counterfeit escudo notes into Portugal during the 1920s that he almost crashed their economy. He was able to do this by using forged documents that enabled him to have other countries print the notes that he then flooded Portugal with and he made himself very rich in doing so.
