Coin's father was a wizard who'd been drummed out of the Unseen University for the unthinkable, unmagical crime of getting married and having eight kids. Everyone knows that the eighth son of the eighth son who was himself a wizard would become that legendary being--a sourcerer!

Of course, all that had happened when Coin was just a baby. Now about ten years old, he was old enough to take over the world. The only things in his way besides the Archancellor's hat, were Rincewind, The Inept; Conina, the beautiful barbarian hairdresser; the Luggage; and Nijel, the underweight hero. Well, all good things have to come to an end sooner or later, and it looked like this just might be the proverbial End of the World....
