Negative Influences — Terry Jones

This book tells the story of a fourteen-year-old girl named Aleaha who is cast out of her home in south Alabama because she doesn't get along with Jim, her mother's live-in.  She is sent to her Aunt Jill's in Tampa Florida.  Her Aunt Jill, in Aleaha's opinion is a skanky, whisper of an old woman who chain smokes and is constantly on her case.           After her aunt dies,( suspicious circumstances) Aleaha goes back home, but her stay is short lived.  Jim convinces Joyce, Aleaha's mother to put her in foster care.  Even though Aleaha makes some friends and has some ordinary life events.  They are interrupted by clashes with members of her foster families further disturbing her negative mind.
