Bounty hunting had never appealed to Tray Dackett. Every day he got sicker of it. That was the only reason he agreed to work for Rhonda Boyd, who wanted him to take her and three men to Apache Canyon where some French gold was reputedly hidden.

Leading the small group to the canyon, Tray found the journey as rough as he'd thought it would be. Not only did his band run into hostile Kiowa Indians, but they were chased by an outlaw gang, also interested in that hidden French gold. And in the midst of their danger, Tray saved the life of a woman despised by the Kiowas -- which just about guaranteed his own death!
