Description
The five stories in this collection were written by Sullivan in the hours and days immediately following the attacks on the US, on 9/11/2001, and showcase the author's attempts to come to terms with the disaster and what it would mean for his nation, and the world, in the days to follow.
"The Last Terrorist" tells of the hunt to track down the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks and bring him to justice. "110 Stories" contemplates the cost in human life when the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. In "Struggle in the Sky," martial artist Jason Wu deals out rough justice to a plane full of hijackers. "Fight the Darkness" showcases the struggle of one family caught in the war that would inevitably follow the attacks. Finally, "The Ghosts of September Eleventh" wreak terrible vengeance on those responsible for the attacks. Each story in this collection demonstrates the powerful, heartfelt emotions evoked by this terrible attack on the United States and its people.
"Most impressive, though, is [Sullivan's] cycle of 9-11-inspired genre pieces. For here, like a [Rod] Serling for our century, the author moves beyond realism not for the sake of mere entertainment, but in order to ponder the imponderable, address the unanswerable -- and plead for an earthly justice that, sad to say, remains firmly embedded within the realm of fantasy." - Paul McComas, Author of "Planet of the Dates" and "Unplugged."
The stories in this volume originally appeared in "Martian Knights & Other Tales."
