When Doctor Emma Wingate applied for a job -- with a view to a partnership -- with Doctors Julian and Malcolm Foster, she had no idea that she would be working for two young bachelors. Emma, a humanist, impulsive, was straight from hospital and found General Practice vastly different to anything else she had known. The advent of Mavis Carlton -- a patient of Malcolm's -- changed Emma's life and almost wrecked the practice. Emma found herself caught up in a set of circumstances which not only jeopardized her work, but her future emotionally.
