Description
Stained glass artist Noelani Beecham put her Hawaiian childhood and her feelings for Dante Kahoa behind her when she left Lehua Flower Farm on Kauai. She also tried to block out Dominic Kahoa's death, which occurred when the three, as teenagers, searched for a family treasure called Pele's Tears, an elusive trio of egg-size gems.
At her studio in Maine, Lani receives anonymous notes, mentioning Pele's Tears, just before Dante shows up. Lani now shares ownership of Lehua with the dimpled, blue-eyed half Hawaiian, half Italian who insists she help him diversify Lehua.
As friendship catches fire a second time between these longtime friends, they discover that what they thought was a family myth really exists, and the mysterious note writer who haunts them is willing to use violence as encouragement for them to hand over Pele's Tears.
While deciphering clues, dodging arranged accidents, and wanting to explore their breathless attraction, Dante and Lani learn that an easy friendship can forge itself into an enduring love.
