Her love of writing started early from age thirteen, when she finished her first novel. After graduating as valedictorian from high school, she received a full scholarship to Arkansas State University, where she majored in math and minored in journalism. In 2001, she moved to Texas and started her teaching career in math, sign language, and journalism. Her proudest accomplishments are her son and finishing her novel, Jake.
