Description
A craft village in the West Virginia mountains and a nearby rock-shelter supposedly haunted by an Indian spirit provide the background for the mystery of missing money and other valuable things. Betty Jo Simpson and her friend, Hal Turner, have to find a solution before proving that Betty Jo's father is innocent of a crime he did not commit.
At school Betty Jo was given the label of Back Mountain girl, the daughter of a good-for-nothing father who couldn't find a decent job. But a summer job as tour guide at Pioneer Village promises to change all that -- until the robberies occur.
An old letter found in a book, a mysterious prowler at Indian Rocks, and the encounter with the Indian spirit lead Betty Jo and Hal to exciting adventures on their way of solving the mysterious robberies.
