Description
After twenty years, Ardis Harrington and Holly, her childhood friend, leisurely have lunch and reminisce on the patio when three teenagers--Books, a privileged sociopath; Bulge, a mischievous black boy; and Marco, a tag-along Mexican--enter the yard. Books kicks a plant into the sparkling pool, then swipes the food off the table and grins at their astonished faces. Laughing, Bulge and Marco go inside the house so the women jump up and follow. The boys raid her refrigerator, while Books opens her china closet, dangles a piece of delicate china in his fingers to tantalize her, then slams it to the floor. Ardis, infuriated when she sees her treasured teacup shatter, reaches for the meat cleaver on the chopping block and hurls it toward her target...
