Description
This is a collection of seven short stories centered on the events and post-war times of the folks in the fictitious town of Spring Grove, California. Pejoratively known as Okies, the small population living in Spring Grove were primarily 1st and 2nd generation escapees of the great dust bowl that struck the Midwest in the 1930s, and. although uneducated and unassuming, they were hardworking, down-to-earth, and generous with what little they had. These fictitious stories are an adjunct to the novel, Cecil and Pearle and The Merry-Go-Round.
