The Case of the Golden Digger — Rob Stevens

Pete Grappler - in his first appearance - takes on a case for a beautiful woman - only for it to descend into murder, conflict with police and an old foe on the force, political corruption and violence - of several kinds. Along the way Pete finds, and loses, his best friend and true love, cements his friendship with a rather under-stated Town Gypsy, Armand, a waiter at Luigi's Speakeasy...... and comes out of it all holding a mixed bag... or seven.....and all is revealed in a shattering climax....
