Giselle — Richard Tresillian

Set in the early 19th century, this is the story of a disinherited Virginian planter who leaves America when he is wrongly accused of rape. He settles in Mauritius, where he falls in love with the daughter of a tobacco planter, only to discover that his past has returned to haunt him. Richard Tresillian has also written the "Bondmaster" and "Bloodheart" series.
