Footsteps to Romance — Rebecca Marsh

As a lady detective, Beverly Crane was persistent and skillful enough to establish the guilt of a suspected embezzler and turn him over to the police; as a result of the reputation she acquired by this, she was assigned to an Indiana manufacturing company to operate undercover to ferrt out the mystery of some unexplained pilferage.

Her restaurateur suitor was not pleased to have her leave New York to go traipsing over the country; but in Indiana there was enough attractive and interested men to fill all of Beverly's spare time satisfactorily. The trouble was; it soon became apparent that one of the latter had to be the leader of the pilfering ring.

Thus Beverly was faced with a decision for which her training had failed to prepare her: Which footsteps should she follow to make an arrest; and which to achieve fulfillment as a woman?
