Deserter — Paul Badgon

Gettysburg was the end for Jake Sinclair. When the blood-drenched battle ended, the Confederate sharpshooter looked over the field of dead and dying soldiers and decided he'd had his fill of war. He planned to go home and put it all behind him. He didn't get far before he ended up on the winning side of a skirmish and took the thief's guns and saddle for himself, to help him on his journey. But fate isn't through with Jake yet. The scavenger killed someone for that saddle, and when a sheriff recognizes it, Jake finds himself on the run again--this time for murder!
