The Voices In The Tower
Beth Rushbrooke came to Scotland to help an unhappy child forget the tragedy of her mother's murder. It was beautiful country, the shore of the North Sea, and old with a tradition that dated from long before the time of the Romans in the south. The tradition told of ancient races and ancient gods -- and Beth soon found that each still lived today! The gods cared little for the human race, but that little called for bloody sacrifice…and the worshippers of those Old Ones were more than willing to supply that sacrifice. The murdered woman had been one such sacrifice and it seemed that Beth was marked for another. For the child, she stayed to fight the evil that seemed to gather around the old black tower…until it seemed that the evil and the child were each a part of horror! Beth longed to escape but the voices in the old tower called her to stay…perhaps to die!
