Description
The Civil War is over, and in its wake lie the charred remnants of Wyndward, the ashes of the once-great name of Turner. Southerners with Northern blood, all that remain are Fitzjohn Turner and his grandson Mark, determined to rebuild the family plantation, to restore their name to glory. For them the war is over; a time to forgive, forget, rebuild. But for others, it has only begun: a battle to erase the Turner memory, to place a burning cross on the once-proud grounds of Wyndward, a burning vow of vengeance on the Yankee lovers who betrayed the Rebel dream. But as they struggle to recreate their shattered world, to claim their passionate women, their self-respect, the Turners face the greatest threat of all from the enemy within: a ghost from the past returned to destroy all he ever loved - with hate.
