Dancer, second in command of the military intelligence unit called the Sixth Service, was a hotshot fighter pilot known for her utter fearlessness. But there were things in Dancer's past she could not face -- and much she could not even remember. But then Dancer came face-to-face with her past. A military stunt fighter crashed on an outpost planet where the Sixth was stationed, and the rescued pilot, a member of the crack Aerial Demonstration Team, claimed Dancer's own name -- and wore the same face. The woman was flying drugged -- unheard of for a member of the Team. And the Team had been flying where it had no reason to be, especially during peacetime.
