Alison Comber's hard work is finally paying off. An engineer in the sales department of Preeminent Pump, her success depends on her ability to find clients for her company, and she's on the verge of landing Preeminent's biggest account ever! The thought of going on her first sales call to the client's office had her nervous, but when Clint West, vice president of sales and marketing, suggests sending glamorous Shelly Marvel in her place, Alison sees red. It seem Clint has it in for her, and if she loses this account, he may fire her.

At Morgan Mills, however, Alison is given a warm reception. Despite her business purpose there, she finds herself attracted to handsome employee Craig Baldwin, who shows her around the plant and takes her out to dinner. Back at the office, though, Alison faces off with Clint again. He accuses her of unprofessional behavior, and later Alison finds out that a co-worker she once admired is plotting against her! Now she stands to lose it all-a promising career and a wonderful guy.
