Jean Gregory's nursing skills and medical supplies could not much help the small African country torn as it was by civil war and terrorized by a blood-crazed dictator. But the beautiful English nurse was determined to try. And when American engineer Stephen Retz proposed a daring plan to hijack a train to bring food supplies to the mountains, she boldly joined him.

But conspiracy and betrayal smothered their plan. Captured by guerrillas, Jean and Stephen were forced into a coup against the dreaded dictator Forla -- alive only as long as they were useful.
