United States of Zombie — Mark Cusco Ailes

In the not-too-distant future, a terrifying plague has taken hold and caused the unthinkable to happen; a zombie plague is threatening to overwhelm the United States. As the gathering horde of the undead begin to spread out of Indiana and toward Illinois and Missouri, desperate survivors search for anywhere that is safe from the zombie threat. Donnie Jorsen, responsible for releasing the zombies from their containment, is desperate to leave the United States. Working with a small band of people he rescued on his way to Missouri, they search building after building looking for supplies to take with them to a place that can offer sanctuary. With an almost fully packed plane, he is ready to leave the forsaken country behind, until General Milkwood, the man tasked with finding him, shows up and the game changes. Meanwhile, another group of survivors seek shelter in Safe Zone Nine. But is this government facility really the sanctuary that many have been promised, or is the government using it for their own agenda, carrying out frightening experiments on those seeking refuge behind its secure walls?
