When child psychologist Serena Fielding is asked to take on an adult patient, she is hesitant. Dream research is her specialty, but she has always found it easier to deal with younger people. Granted, Jefferson Tolliver's case is an intriguing one, but he is hardly an ideal subject. In fact, he seems so skeptical of Serena's ability to help him that she is tempted to forget the whole thing.

After a rocky start, Serena and Jeff decide it is worth their while to continue the sessions. Serena's boss, Dr. Martha Enderby, looks on with a knowing smile. Her intuition was right, these two belong together. Serena is doing her best to ignore Martha's hints, but if she is truthful, the handsome Mr. Tolliver does stir something inside her.
