Sue Gifford's new job as physiotherapist at a clinic for disabled children seems to clash too often with her boyfriend Keith's needs. Only recently has Sue been able to reveal her true feelings for Keith, who had been engaged to her glamorous cousin until an accident left him seriously ill. Now that he has turned to her, Sue's problems are far from being solved. For in addition to the clash of career and social life, is she imagining that her friendship with Dr Julian Caird - one she has always taken for granted - has suddenly taken on a new significance?
