Description
Dana Austin, of the smoky dark hair and hazel eyes, had known Jane Havers during training, and now that they were full-fledged nurses, they had decided to live together. It was lucky that Dana's aunt, Blair Austin, had donated her decorating services for the two-bedroom apartment in the converted San Francisco mansion of Blair's old school chum, Roberta Sully. Two struggling young nurses could never have afforded such luxury.
Jane was always talking about the haves and the have nots, but Dana was sure it was because Jane had had a hard time in putting herself through nurses' training, it never occurred to Dana to link Dr. Hal Wells's assignment to the third floor with Jane's decision to leave Four-West for Third. Besides, Hal had just asked Dana to have dinner with him -- and Dana literally was floating on air as she thought about the young blond resident.
According to Hal, one of his patients was giving him a very difficult time. Josh Holbrook was an arrogant and conceited man, and it was not until later that Dana learned that Josh was the son of her aunt's best friend, Dorinda. When Blair suggested that Dana accompany Josh and his mother on a trip to Europe, Dana refused. How could she leave Hal? Then Hal suggested that she accept the offer, and so Dana agreed -- against her better judgment.
