Lynne Murphy, a children's book illustrator, moves to the mountains of Tennessee for some quiet solitude away from everyone and to look for some inspiration. She finds more than she ever expected when her next door neighbor saves her from a near catastrophe on a ladder.

Abel Mason has taken refuge from the world for a lot longer than Lynne has. His wife died three years ago and since then, he has shut himself off from everyone---even his family---alone in his cabin with his trusty dog, Samson.

But soon, as they spend time together, Lynne opens his eyes to the world---coloring his life with hope and joy once again. Can Abel let go of the past and grab hold of the future standing right in front of him? Or, will he let fears from the past consume him? Lynne has a difficult road ahead, but it is one that she is ready and willing to traverse.
