Galen, a ten-year-old orphaned Philistine boy, wants nothing more than to be a man. Surely, if he becomes Goliath's shield bearer, he'll win the acceptance he desperately craves. But earning the giant's approval requires increasingly dangerous acts -- like sneaking into the Israelite camp.
