Description
Rick Robertson was living his dream life. He was the second-generation owner and promoter of the world's most successful sports entertainment company -- the Galactic Wrestling Association. As a single dad and billionaire boss, his life was spent traveling the world with his twelve-year-old daughter and the crew he considered a second family. But seeing his staff and talent falling in love made him realize there was still one thing missing in his life -- his soulmate.
Not that Rick ever believed he'd meet a woman and fall in love like the crew surrounding him. He'd thought he found the one in the mother of his daughter, but she had only been interested in him for his fame and fortune. Seven years after his disastrous divorce, Rick refused to be suckered into another relationship, no matter how jealous he felt of all the lovebirds on his company jet.
He certainly wasn't going to fall prey to the English teacher he currently had working for him to teach all the children that traveled with their parents who worked for the GWA. So, Rick was looking for her replacement, along with a history teacher, since several of the kids would be going into high school in the next couple of years and would need more than touring historical sites in each city they visited on tour.
Fiona Harrison was tired of living the sheltered life of a preacher's daughter in a small Texas town. She craved adventure and excitement like she read about both with her middle school English students and alone at home. She wanted to get out of Heart's Destiny and see the world. And maybe meet a man who could make her feel more than the friendly affection she felt with the guys she grew up with.
Fiona jumped at the chance to travel with the GWA when her coworker and friend, Charlotte Burleson, told her about the traveling English teacher position. She interviewed for the job when the GWA was in Heart's Destiny for Charlotte's youngest brother's wedding over Thanksgiving break. She was scheduled to start her new job at the beginning of the new year and hoped the instant attraction she felt when she interviewed with the owner of the company wouldn't make the working conditions too uncomfortable.
Rick didn't think his attraction to the new English teacher, who was ten years his junior, would be a problem. She was too young to be interested in a single father with too much responsibility on his shoulders to ever have time to take her out and treat her the way a beautiful young woman like her deserved. He considered himself to be more than man enough to appreciate her beauty from afar and keep all their interactions professional.
Then he went home to New York over Christmas break and hired a male history teacher closer to Fiona's age. When the two new teachers both started work in the new year and seemed to be spending an awful lot of time together, Rick struggled to fight his natural alpha tendency to claim Fiona as his own.
Which battle would Rick win? The battle with himself not to pursue Fiona? Or the fight for Fiona's heart?
