Beckoning Dreams — Lawrence James

Left behind when her love leaves to find a new life in California of the 1850's a sixteen year old leaves her Cornish home with her young son and crosses the Atlantic to New York. After fruitless enquiries for him she takes passage to St. Louis on a cart and then joins a wagon train to cross the Great Plains. Finally arriving after many adventures she meets him again. However there have been changes for both of them and the future for both is not as expected.
