Description
She might be brainy, but Nellie is clueless when it comes to life and relationships. And when she tries to help an Amish friend, she almost causes a cross-cultural incident.
Twenty-year-old Nellie Monroe is her small town's token genius. She can write a mean term paper. She can pinpoint the word origins of most entries in her dictionary. She can discuss Dickens, Austen, or Poe. But Nellie is more than a little clueless when it comes to relationships and real life. She longs to see "real life" in action, though, and aspires to a career as a private investigator. When an ex-Amish guy asks her to infiltrate his community and get the dish on his former girlfriend, Nellie straps on her bonnet and goes undercover. Her cross-cultural assignment becomes complicated when her aging, beloved Nona distracts Nellie, she has a suddenly rocky friendship with her oldest friend, as well as her overwhelming need to keep a secret. The result is a comedy of errors, a surprising take on love, and a story of humor, family, and grace.
