Mad Dogs and Irishmen — Kevin O'Brien

Belfast 1979. It is the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Gerry McGann is the IRA's most prized gunman. He's also the most wanted. The Royal Ulster Constabulary, the British Army, Special Branch, MI5 - they all want him. It's even unofficially rumoured that, at the behest of the British Government, the SAS are on constant alert to find and kill him. But after the cold-blooded murder of two RUC constables, one a young woman, and two members of the British Parachute Regiment, McGann is in hiding, shunted from one safe house to another. And the cracks are beginning to show.
But when his estranged daughter is brutally raped and murdered over the water in Britain, McGann is suddenly a loose cannon hell-bent on revenge. His masters in the IRA, however, forbid him to go for a variety of reasons, not least because he kills at their behest and not his own. But a Mad Dog is hard to leash, and when it breaks free...
Once in Britain, McGann learns some devastating facts about his young daughter. She was no longer the innocent child he once knew. Working for a North of England gangster and club owner, she has become the starlet of numerous S&M videos and, along with her lesbian girlfriend, freely mingle in that subculture of perversion and sadism.
Soon the IRA are hot on his trail...which isn't too hard to track as the body count increases.
