Casper Van Holland is a widower wanting to take his young daughter to Oregon Country to live with his married brother. Julia Warren is traveling to Oregon Country with her sister and brother-in-law. Rather than share a wagon, Julia arranges to hire Casper to drive her wagon. Everyone on the wagon train believes Casper and Julia are married.
