When Jane met Ward Holderly, a handsome and wealthy widower, she moved to his magnificent mansion in the lush, bluegrass lands of Kentucky. With the man she loved and his three small children, her happiness was boundless as the sprawling, tranquil valley around them.

But Ward's children began to disturb and frighten her. The eldest was driven by fits of demonic rage; another was tormented by hideous, howling specters. And the third became strangely mute, as if touched by an untold horror.

A sickly seed of evil grew in the darkness of Holderly Hall, and the mansion Jane had loved became a yawning cavern of terror. As its icy curse crept closer, she knew the touch of death was near.
