After the death of his mother, twelve year old Bobby comforts himself by playing an ultraviolent video game that distracts him from his loss.

Throughout his misadventures with his father, Bobby increasingly depends on his video game for guidance.

On a mission of love and self-salvation, Bobby's grandfather, a grandiose TV pitchman, attempts to save Bobby from Deacon's dangerous influence.
