Description
Cwyth loved her work as a vet's assistant - an untrained vet's assistant, it was true, but her kindly boss, old Mr. Victoria, was sensible enough to realise that genuine love of animals and a genuine way with them more than made up for lots of certificates. So it was a sad day for Cwyth when old Mr. Victoria died - but at least Mr. Victoria, dog, that enchanting mixture of mongrel who had insisted on making his home with them, was a big consolation. Which was more than could be said for young Mr. Victoria, human, certificates and rows of letters after one's name were important - and Cwyth was afraid her days were numbered. But there was something else she was more afraid of still - when she discovered young Mr. Victoria's interest in the glamorous Julya.
