Description
Danny hasn't seen his aging mother in almost ten years, although he does talk to her by phone from time to time. When he learns she is dying and he is her sole heir, he decides to help things along but is stymied by her four canine companions. In this light take on death and greed, Jacobs draws on the antics of her family dog and his friends. This short story was originally published in an anthology entitled Canine Crimes.
