Description
Interestingly, these 14 fantasy/horror tales were originally written by Kevin Browne as screenplays, then converted to story form by horror veteran John Tigges ( Book of the Dead , Dorchester, 1989). Browne, a sometime-contributor to TV's Tales from the Darkside and Monsters , further distinguishes the collection by prefacing each yarn with segments of an ongoing comic book story, illustrated by Stephen Blue. All these components mesh nicely, producing intriguing vignettes with Catch-22 endings. Despite occasional lapses into simple-minded characterization, this unique collection is a resounding success, bound to stir interest among horror, fantasy, sf, and comics fans. For most public libraries that have an audience for stories in these genres.--Mark Annichiarico, ``Library Journal''
