Sunday 6th March 2016 and an elderly MP dies in his sleep. It is a cold, wet and miserable night in northern England and Tony will hear about the MP in tomorrow's news. Will he care? Probably not that much, as he has too many problems of his own. He is 53, divorced, with three kids, unemployed and on benefits. Life was once much better and Tony is bitter. His life must change A chance encounter with a prospective MP is the start of a series of events which will impact on Tony and those he loves dearly. He needs money to realise his dreams. Will he emerge unscathed? Most of all can he escape the watchful eye of the DWP and avoid becoming Sanctioned? Sanctioned is a fictional work whose characters are caught up in love, ambition and greed. It is told against the background of contemporary politics. The story is told from the perspective of ordinary people and how decisions taken in Westminster are having devastating effects on their lives and relationships.
