Description
During a class trip to remote Thunder Mountain, Will, Lisa and Waldo stumble upon the sinister secrets of Seth Tuttle, a mad old farmer who has made a terrible bargain with She-Who-Walks-In-Thunder, a forgotten pagan goddess. In exchange for blood sacrifices, the goddess will grant good harvests. But Seth has other plans for his dark deity - and she has other plans for him. The goddess wants Seth to open the ancient magical gates so she can return and rule the world - and in the terrible pages of Abdul Alhazred's NECRONOMICON, She-Who-Walks-In-Thunder is named as a force of cosmic evil. When Will and his friends accidentally spy on one of Seth Tuttle's rituals, they see him bringing a monstrous scarecrow to life. And there are more - many more - for Seth has been resurrecting these servants of his dark goddess, first created by an evil ancestor centuries ago. Seth doesn't like spies - but he can always use a fresh sacrifice. He sends his inhuman servants to capture the intruders. Will, Waldo and Lisa escape, but now the scarecrows are on their trail. Will and his friends learn to their horror that the servants of Seth Tuttle wield all the powers of their dark goddess - and that the living scarecrows will follow them anywhere in the world, to drag them back to their master's dark altar in the cornfield. . .
