Description
While attending her annual Mystery Reader's guild meeting held on Block Island Nora is quickly engrossed in the murder of the inn keeper. A hurricane prevents the mainland state police from arriving for several days, leaving the local sheriff and his deputy over their heads with the homicide. Being the off-season, the inn's only guests are the nine members of Nora's group plus a small staff, the two owners, and a troublesome relative of one of the owners. Stranded by the storm and quarantined by the sheriff, Nora takes advantage of the opportunity to do enough snooping to discover that any one of the staff had the opportunity and motive to commit the murder. Nora's in her glory as the inexperienced sheriff allows her to question everyone until she ultimately puts the pieces together and points him in the direction of the killer.
