Description
In a cozy Midwest town, the owner of a successful restaurant chain called Quik Burgers is murdered and Kathy Bomar, a quirky retired librarian is horrified when her temperamental granddaughter, Sara, turns out to be the prime suspect. Kathy is not your typical grandmother. One might expect a sweet old lady to use her life experience, wisdom, and keen powers of observation to solve a crime. However, Kathy is more likely to spike a suspect's drink while questioning them and to create gossip to flush out the killer. Much to her family's dismay, with the exception of her granddaughter, Kathy decides that the sheriff is an incompetent moron and it's up to her to crack the case. Her complete lack of experience and stake-outs of inappropriate suspects land her in awkward and humorous situations. Fortunately, Kathy thinks quick on her feet and if all else fails, she knows how to play the helpless old lady card with amazing skill. As a newcomer to this small town, Kathy realizes she needs all the help she can get so she's grateful for Sara's assistance. Because Sara is a shift manager at Quik Burgers, her inside knowledge of the business and many of the locals who frequent this establishment, she provides her grandmother with information and leads that would otherwise remain unavailable. Unfortunately, she finds herself in jeopardy as gossip runs rampant and the killer fears she's come too close to the truth.
