Goodbye, Buffalo Sky — John Loveday

An orphaned white boy living in a settlement on the Northern Plains in Indian Territory, twelve-year-old Cappy Carew witnesses the murder of his friend and teacher by a Sioux Indian and sets off into high adventure across the plains in search of the murderer.
