Kurt von Romain is in Britain and must be kept here whilst support is won from European nations. His departure must be delayed for at least 24 hours and it must be done discreetly. Britain is not yet at war with Germany and there is a last chance to prevent it, but von Romain could destroy that chance. This novel portrays not only thrills and adventure pertinent to the time, but is also relevant and representative of many secret battles fought since. It is timeless, demanding, and very skilfully written.
