Description
In Healer of Worlds: The Chosen, Eric was taken from his life on Earth to fulfill his destiny of being the Chosen. He was forced to leave the most intense love imaginable behind. Now a seasoned veteran, Eric travels from world to world helping as needed. Each world is different and needs different things from Eric. Using a sword, magic, or even just advice, Eric works to help the mortals of whatever world he is on. Whether his job is to slay dragons or babysit a spoiled princess, Eric continues to get the job done. Eric has had to deal with the loss of Sarah for over 300 years. He has tried to program himself not to think about her any more than he has to but it doesn't get any easier. His only companion is a formless entity that takes Eric from one world to the next and explains what he can about the world and assignment. This isn't always enough. Over his first 300 years, Eric has learned to adapt. Among other things, he has been a warrior, a mage, a child, a woman, elderly, an elf, and even an ogre. He never knows what form he will take until he takes shape on the planet's surface. Since only the young are selected into the temple of magic, Eric takes the identity of 12 year old Dyson during his newest assignment on Plinari, a world in the process of changing. Eric must first find his power and learn to control it before he can use it to complete his mission. One huge problem is figuring out what his mission actually is. He can see many mages who are evil or driven enough to be the problem requiring his presence. The formless entity, whom Eric named Bob, goes silent. Now alone, Eric must figure things out by himself. His frustration and other emotions hamper his efforts. The biggest problem he faces may be himself. The first book of this series has met with mixed reviews. In The Chosen, Eric's love and pain had to be stressed as much as possible in every way possible. This book lightens up on that love and pain but it is still there. It is the center of the story behind this series of books.
