The stately Virginia plantation where nurse Victoria Crawford will be working looks peaceful, but looks can be deceiving. Vicki's boyfriend, Steve Lange, is a television reporter with a vested interest in Vicki's new assignment. If he can crack the puzzle of what really happened at Burklough, it will be quite a coup. Vicki has no intention of betraying her patient, but Libby's doctor, Vicki's ex-boyfriend Harry Cavenaugh, warns Vicki to be careful. Vicki doesn't know which is more difficult: taking care of the troubled teenager, or juggling the attention of two jealous men. All her personal troubles disappear, though, when intruders are spotted in the house. Has the murderer returned?
