Mekedo grew up in Tanzania.Her father was one of the soldiers killed by extremists in the name of freedom. She was still a young girl attending high school. Her mother had financial problems as she had no income. She could not afford to pay for her schooling. Her mother's brother was a prosperous business person. He took her to one of his safe houses. She became his plaything. She soon realized that he was keeping men and women in the basement. She had no idea then that he was a criminal.
