The Blue and Purple Egg — J.L. Smith

Seven year old Alicia went for a walk on a beautiful summer day. As she enjoyed the warm sunshine and gentle breezes, she noticed a flattened piece of grass along the side of the walking path. She went to investigate and saw a rather large, beautiful blue and purple egg in the nest. She touched the egg and it was smooth. Then she heard a tapping noise coming from inside the egg. What should she do? Should she take it home and see what hatches or should she leave it here? Would her parents let her keep it or make her bring it back?
