Aubrey Quinn has lived under her mother's thumb ever since her third grade music teacher cast her in the lead of the school musical. Although she is twenty-one, she still lives with her parents and allows her mother to run almost every aspect of her life.
After securing a spot on a singing reality show, Aubrey wins the opportunity to perform the National Anthem for a professional baseball team. Unfortunately, that opportunity brings her into close proximity to Jess Rivers again - her high school sweetheart.
Now she's struggling to get out of her mother's clutches, fighting to remain competitive on the show, arguing with Jess over what their relationship is, and, on top of all that, trying to figure out what she really wants to do with her life.
When things come to a head, it's Jess that takes her by the hand and shows her that the answers she desperately needs are in her heart.
