Description
This is the story of a Civil Service worker at a government Facility. He entered into the world of Civil Service feeling fortunate to have gained a position with the organization and feels that a job with the government was a great opportunity. He eagerly looked forward to the challenges the job would bring and that surely, with hard work and exemplary performance, he would rise quickly in the organization. As time goes by, he begins to realize that hard work and talent have little to do with getting promoted. It was the "Snake Oil Salesman" and those who prostitute themselves to management that get most of the promotions. He found that there is some truth to the Dilbert Principal, which says, "The most ineffective workers are systematically moved to the place where they can do the least damage: management." The Repair facility is not to be construed as a typical Government Entity; after all, Joel Barlow had explicit faith in our American Government.
